Today, February 16, in Tan Linh village, Huong Tan commune, Huong Hoa district People's Committee organized the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" in the spring of Giap Thin 2024. At the launching ceremony, Chairman of Huong Hoa District People's Committee Tran Binh Thuan said that last year, the movement of planting trees, afforestation and forest protection in the area achieved encouraging results. The locality has newly planted more than 691.5 hectares of concentrated forests and more than 110,000 scattered trees from programs and projects...

During the Tet tree planting festival, the whole district planted 9,026 shade trees of all kinds. According to the results of monitoring forest developments in 2023, the district has over 52,250 hectares of forest, with a forest cover rate of 44.7%. 2,145 hectares of forest have been built and recognized according to FSC certification; 7,157 hectares have been assigned to the community and 1,828 hectares to households for care and protection.

Promoting those results, it is recommended that Party committees at all levels, authorities and socio -political organizations in the whole district continue to promote extensive propaganda in many forms to the masses about the purpose and meaning of the Tree Planting Festival, the implementation of the Prime Minister's project to plant one billion trees in the period of 2021 - 2025 to become an emulation movement of all levels, sectors, in each residential area, with the participation of all people in the whole district.

The organization of the launching of the Tree Planting Festival and the implementation of the project to plant 1 billion trees must be suitable to the conditions of each locality, agency, and unit. Linking the improvement of productivity, quality, and efficiency of forest planting with the protection of existing forest resources, especially natural forests and protective forests, preventing deforestation and illegal exploitation of forests, increasing the economic value of forests, and promoting increasingly sustainable socio -economic development.

After the launching ceremony, delegates and a large number of people planted 40 flower-paved trees at the football field in Tan Linh village, Huong Tan commune.
