(CLO) On November 14, the Ministryof Education and Training (MOET) held a press conference to summarize the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" in 2024.
Speaking at the press conference, journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, said: In 2024, the National Press Award for Vietnam Education received more than 800 entries. The electronic newspaper category received the most entries; followed by print, television and radio.
With the electronic newspaper format, the quality is quite consistent, with many elaborate series of articles. The entries are presented in a modern and rich format in Mega Story, Emagazine, Longform with all types: text, photos, videos , graphics.

In particular, this year, there are some Podcasts that bring new elements. The works are exploratory and practical; they address issues of regimes and policies for teachers, tuition fees, revenues and expenditures in schools; good people and good deeds; international cooperation in education; school safety; preserving national languages; a group of topics on community support, ways to help disadvantaged students, and education for students with disabilities, etc.
The Preliminary Council of the Award is divided into 3 sub-committees: Print Newspaper Sub-committee, Electronic Newspaper Sub-committee, Radio - Television Sub-committee, working independently to judge 4 categories: Print Newspaper; Electronic Newspaper, Radio, Television.
After many serious and impartial working sessions, the Jury selected 81 works for the final round from more than 800 entries. From there, they continued to select 59 best works of 4 categories to award prizes; including 1 Special Prize, 4 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 12 Third Prizes, 32 Encouragement Prizes and 2 outstanding characters.

Many works have left a deep impression, because of the elaborate investment in both content and form. The works deeply analyze the "hot" issues of the education sector; record the actual implementation or social criticism of the policies and decisions of the sector; record the thoughts and aspirations of parents and students.
Many works spread beautiful stories of the education sector; examples of good people, good deeds; noble hearts, and dedication of teachers... Including teachers who stay in remote areas, stick to schools, stick to classes, and volunteer to "sow letters" in remote places of the country.
Through journalistic works, we see the commitment of reporters so that examples of teachers and the good values that education brings can spread widely in society.
“In the process of innovation, in addition to opportunities and advantages, the education sector will also face many difficulties and challenges. More than ever, we always hope and appreciate the cooperation and contribution to support the education sector; including the support and companionship from press and media agencies”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Thu Hang expressed.
In 2024, the National Press Award for the Cause of Vietnam Education accepts works in Vietnamese in 4 categories: print, electronic, radio and television; published and broadcast on mass media from September 5, 2023 to September 5, 2024.
The best work will be awarded a Special Prize (receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training). In addition, each category has 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and a number of Encouragement Prizes; along with 2 typical characters in the winning work.
The 2024 National Press Awards Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnam's Education" will be held on the morning of November 16 at the Hanoi Opera House.
