According to the update of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), as of the morning of August 26, due to the impact of storm No. 5 (Kajiki), in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, many areas still had to stop and reduce power supply. However, power units have tried to restore and supply power to 509,000 customers and 2,685 transformer stations have resumed operation.
Currently, more than 1.6 million customers in these three localities are still without power. Specifically, in Thanh Hoa , about 395,000 customers are affected; 3,196 transformer stations and 80 medium voltage lines are experiencing problems. EVN Thanh Hoa has restored many transformer stations, but some areas are still facing difficulties due to heavy rain, flooding, and traffic disruption.
In Nghe An , about 870,000 customers were affected; 6,187 transformer stations and 148 medium voltage lines had problems. In Ha Tinh, about 349,000 customers were still affected; 2,466 transformer stations and 62 medium voltage lines had problems, some power poles were broken, and wires were damaged. Many important transformer stations have been restored to ensure power supply for essential loads.

In addition, two 110kV lines (Cam Xuyen - Ky Anh 2 and T500 - Huong Khe) had problems, many areas in the area stopped reducing power supply. On the medium voltage grid, more than 220 lines/branches were interrupted. Thousands of distribution transformer stations were interrupted in operation, units are urgently restoring, of which more than 1,000 stations have been restored.
EVNNPC said the electricity industry has mobilized maximum human resources and equipment to fix the problem and will try to restore power supply in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Thanh Hoa before September 2.
Previously, on the evening of August 25, the eye of storm No. 5 made landfall in Nghe An - Ha Tinh, causing strong winds of level 10, gusts of level 15. According to preliminary information, the storm blew off roofs of houses, public works, educational facilities; trees and electric poles fell; widespread power outages (Ha Tinh 60/69 wards and communes lost power)...
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the circulation of storm Kajiki will continue to cause heavy rain until August 26 in the mountainous, midland and delta areas of the North. In particular, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces will experience heavy to very heavy rain, with a very high risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides.
