Recognizing Thanh Hoa Electricity Company's efforts to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5

On August 27, the working delegation led by Deputy General Director of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) Luong Minh Thanh chaired a meeting to evaluate the work of overcoming the incident caused by storm No. 5 (Kajiki) on the power grid of Thanh Hoa Power Company (PC Thanh Hoa).

The meeting was connected online from Thanh Hoa PC bridge to all affiliated units.

During August 26-27, the EVNNPC delegation directly inspected the scene, worked with Thanh Hoa PC and acknowledged the unit's sense of urgency, responsibility and great efforts in promptly restoring power supply to customers.

According to the report of Thanh Hoa PC, storm No. 5 has seriously affected the power grid system in the area, which has caused more than 500 thousand customers to have their power supply interrupted (accounting for 41.9%). Especially in coastal areas such as Nghi Son, Quang Xuong, Sam Son, Hau Loc, Nga Son, Hoang Hoa and mountainous areas such as Quan Son, Thach Thanh... which were isolated due to floods and some communes and wards in the whole area were still flooded. In that situation, the Company urgently deployed many synchronous solutions, mobilized nine contractors with human resources, materials, equipment, and at the same time ensured smooth communication to focus on overcoming key areas. The restoration work was carried out according to the principle of priority, where the water receded and safety was ensured, the power would be quickly restored.

To speed up the progress, PC Thanh Hoa has established internal shock teams, ready to support each other and support other units when directed by the Corporation. The Board of Directors and department leaders directly assign responsibilities, supervise and urge progress at the scene. For flooded and isolated areas, the Company has developed its own plan, not excluding the arrangement of backup generators to serve important local political events, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, especially during the upcoming 80th National Day Anniversary on September 2.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy General Director Luong Minh Thanh emphasized: Thanh Hoa Power Company needs to urgently review and accurately assess the amount of damage; focus on mobilizing maximum resources, equipment, vehicles and shock troops to promptly handle vulnerable areas. Requires the Regional Power Management Teams to closely follow the scene, work with the spirit of "rest after power supply", and closely coordinate with construction units, ensuring proper procedures and absolute safety. The deadline is set at August 30, 2025. If the progress is not achieved, it must be reported promptly so that the Company can mobilize additional human resources and vehicles. In addition, the unit needs to be proactive and flexible in implementation, can hire additional cranes, bucket trucks on site or apply temporary measures to speed up the recovery progress.

In addition, EVNNPC leaders also reminded Thanh Hoa PC to complete the documents and investment plans based on actual volume, serving the settlement work in accordance with regulations. At the same time, review the province's power development plan, paying special attention to investing in the construction of 110kV transformer stations and medium-voltage output lines to meet the requirements of long-term socio -economic development. At the same time, the Trade Union and Youth Union of the unit need to pay attention and promptly encourage the spirit of workers who are directly involved in troubleshooting at the scene.

Unit leaders care about, visit and encourage the staff who are participating in overcoming the damage after storm No. 5 at the scene.

Currently, the unit continues to inspect to restore power lines and stations to restore power to more than 29,000 customers in 7/166 communes and wards that are still experiencing power supply interruptions (data updated as of 3:00 p.m. on August 27, 2025).

With the close direction of EVNNPC and the determination and high sense of responsibility of Thanh Hoa PC, the work of overcoming the incident after storm No. 5 is being urgently and synchronously deployed. The top goal is to soon restore safe and stable power supply, serving people's lives and socio-economic development activities in the province.
