Join hands to improve the quality of products

In the past, promoting the advantage of rich products, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu implemented the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program and achieved important results, contributing to raising the value of local specialties and improving people's lives. Therefore, when Ca Mau and Bac Lieu merged, it was like a "key" to open up many opportunities for OCOP products, typical and typical rural products of the province to reach further.

Ca Mau province currently has 192 OCOP products from 94 entities, including 47 4-star products and 145 3-star products. The province is actively supporting entities to upgrade OCOP products, combining policies from programs and projects to support entities to develop and perfect products according to 5-star OCOP standards.

Shrimp cracker production at Kien Cuong Nam Can Production, Trade and Service Company Limited (Hang Vinh commune, Nam Can district, Ca Mau province); the company has 2 products achieving 3-star OCOP and 1 product achieving 4-star OCOP.

The product of Nam Can Sea Crab achieved 4-star OCOP of Du Thai Binh Company Limited (Ham Rong Commune, Nam Can District, Ca Mau Province). Every year, the company exports over 130 tons of commercial crab to the Chinese and Singaporean markets.

For Bac Lieu province, there are 160 OCOP products of 79 entities, of which 128 are 3-star products and 30 are 4-star products. Notably, there are 2 salt products (grain salt and refined salt) that are national OCOP products meeting 5-star standards; 9 products are available in domestic supermarket systems and 7 products have export markets.

Since July 1, when Ca Mau province (new) came into operation, the number of OCOP products of the province has increased significantly, along with the strategy of developing commodity production towards linking value chains, upgrading OCOP products in the future, promising to unleash the potential of local agricultural products, effectively exploit rural labor resources, promote local traditional cultural values, creativity of subjects, bring typical products, typical products of the province to reach new heights, increase income for people, contribute to creating resources to promote the sustainable development of the province's rural economy.
