Quang Binh province's border guards and other forces are searching for three missing fishermen after two fishing boats sank at sea.

On January 27, the Border Guard of Quang Binh province issued a notice and contacted many fishing boats operating at sea to assist in the search.

Previously, Mr. Dao Xuan Dung, 44 years old, from Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, reported that his logistics fishing boat sank and lost contact more than 100 km from Nhat Le estuary. The boat was captained by fisherman Pham Ngoc Lam, 50 years old, from Bao Ninh commune, with 3 crew members from Quang Trach district: Nguyen Thanh Tung, 50 years old, Nguyen Xuan Huong, 50 years old, and Mr. Dao Van Thuan, 55 years old.

Through the voyage monitoring system, the Quang Binh border guards called on fishing boats operating near the area where the ship lost contact to assist in the search. The fishing boat captained by fisherman Tran Van Thanh, from Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue, rescued fishermen Nguyen Thanh Tung and Nguyen Xuan Huong. Fishermen Pham Ngoc Lam and Dao Van Thuan are still missing.

Quang Binh Border Guard has notified the Naval Region 3 Command, Coast Guard Region 2 Command, Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region 2 and 10 Quang Binh fishing boats to come to the area to search for the two fishermen.

On the same day, a fishing boat captained by Mr. Dao Xuan Nhat, 27 years old, from Dong Hoi City, with 6 crew members sank about 100 km from Nhat Le estuary and about 24 km from Cua Viet estuary.

Six people were later rescued by nearby fishing boats. Fisherman Dao Van Ba, 25 years old, from Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, is missing. Currently, fishing boats near the area where the ship crashed are organizing a search.

Due to the strengthening cold air, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Quang Tri to Phu Yen , the central and southern East Sea will have strong northeast winds of level 5-6, waves of 1.5-3 m high, and rough seas. The meteorological agency warns that all ships operating in the above sea areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves.
