Poprad airport authorities said the airport had been closed due to the problem. Passengers were evacuated. Security forces checked the terminals and administrative buildings for explosives.

On the same day, Kosice airport confirmed that it had evacuated passengers due to a bomb threat. However, both airports have since resumed operations after authorities determined that the threats were unfounded.

On the same day , in India, an IndiGo Airlines flight from Jabalpur city in Madhya Pradesh state to Hyderabad city in Telangana state had to divert to Nagpur city in Maharashtra state after receiving a bomb threat message.

All passengers and crew were evacuated from the plane, officials said. A thorough search by emergency services did not find any suspicious signs. The incident is the latest in a series of bomb threats against schools, airports, shopping malls and hospitals across India, including the capital Delhi.

In June, India's Civil Aviation Authority proposed a five-year flying ban for those making such threats.
