The famous travel magazine Time Out has just announced a list of the 50 best cities in the world in 2025.

Ranked 21st on the list, Hanoi is described as having a relatively mild climate with four distinct seasons, and is the cradle of Vietnamese culture. This is also the land that has produced many of the country’s most famous poets, artists, thinkers, and iconic dishes.

Walking around the old quarter, visitors will easily catch the aroma of charcoal grilled meat at the bun cha restaurant on Hang Quat street or from the boiling pots of broth at the pho bung restaurant on Hang Trong street.

Around Hoan Kiem Lake, visitors can admire a series of famous iconic destinations of the Capital such as the Opera House, the Great Church... next to small cafes hidden in narrow alleys or in ancient houses.

The ranking also honored Hanoi as one of the high-end and sophisticated culinary destinations with up to 3 restaurants receiving prestigious Michelin stars in 2023.

In addition, according to a survey of Time Out, Hanoi is also the fourth cheapest city on the list, with 89% of respondents saying the amount they have to spend on a cup of coffee or a movie here is very reasonable.
