The rotor of Unit 1 of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Extension Project weighs about 585 tons and is the rotating part of the generator. The successful installation process into the Stator of the unit must ensure technical requirements with high precision.

Rotor installation is an important step in the series of generator installation stages, requiring synchronous and precise coordination between construction, supervision and electromechanical equipment installation units.

The project scale includes the construction and expansion of a hydropower plant with 2 units, total capacity of 480 MW (2 x 240 MW).

The average annual electricity output is about 490 million kWh. The total investment is over 9,220 billion VND. The construction site is located on the main construction line on the right bank of the existing Hoa Binh hydroelectric dam.

The project is implemented with the objectives of increasing the peak capacity of the national power system, improving the economic operation of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant in the system. Improving the frequency regulation and frequency stabilization of the national power system, contributing to reducing electricity operating costs.

At the same time, the project also reduces the working intensity of existing generators, thereby extending the life of the equipment and saving maintenance and repair costs.
