Releasing new shrimp crop at Quyet Thang Cooperative (Ba Ria City). |
The reason for the price drop is that since the news that the US Department of Commerce imposed a preliminary anti-dumping tax of up to 35.29% on Vietnamese shrimp, the highest level in the past 19 years, caused seafood exporting enterprises to reduce the purchase price of raw shrimp. In addition, restaurants, wholesale markets, and domestic traders also reduced their purchases, causing prices to drop sharply.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the area for white-leg shrimp farming in the province is 337 hectares with a farming output of 3,255 tons in the first 5 months of 2025.
