Pepper price today June 25, 2025: Keep prices low

In Vietnam, pepper prices have also decreased for three consecutive weeks. The main reason is that demand from the Middle East, the US and China has weakened, while global inventories have increased. The tension in the Middle East, especially the conflict between Iran and Israel, has greatly affected the progress of export orders in the region.

Mr. Marcellus Giovanni, CEO of Brazspice Spices International, commented that domestic pepper prices in Vietnam have fallen much deeper than expected due to geopolitical factors. In addition, tensions between Cambodia and Thailand have also caused pepper from Cambodia to flood into the Vietnamese market, contributing to increasing supply pressure.

The pepper market is expected to see positive changes in the third and fourth quarters as international tensions ease. However, new supplies will not arrive until the 2026 harvest. Therefore, the factors causing the market to decline are mainly short-term, while the long-term fundamentals remain quite stable. Many long-term export contracts for the 2025-2026 period have begun to be signed.

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on June 24 (local time) as follows:

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,000/ton.

The global pepper market is on a downward trend, according to the latest report from the International Pepper Community (IPC). Pepper prices in many countries have decreased over the past week due to the impact of exchange rates, abundant supply and weak demand from major markets.

In India, a 1% fall in the rupee against the US dollar has led to a decline in both domestic and export pepper prices. In Sri Lanka, pepper prices have fallen for three consecutive weeks as the country enters a new harvest season, increasing supply in the market.

Meanwhile, black pepper prices from Brazil, Cambodia and white pepper from China all recorded a downward trend, in which Brazil was affected by expectations of increased production.

Faced with the unfavorable situation, Brazilian exporters have decided to suspend sales and hold inventories until the market recovers. Although prices are falling, demand has increased by 30-50% compared to April and May, showing a positive signal about potential purchasing power.
