Pepper price today July 16 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on July 15 (Hanoi time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices decreased slightly compared to yesterday to reach 7,240 USD/ton (down 2.11%). In addition, Muntok white pepper prices decreased slightly compared to yesterday to reach 10,092 USD/ton (down 0.84%).

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price decreased sharply compared to yesterday at 5,825 USD/ton (down 7.33%).

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,900/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,750/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam are stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l is 6,440 USD/ton; 550 gr/l is 6,570 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton.

Pepper prices in Indonesia and Brazil are falling sharply after the two countries received notice that they will be subject to high taxes when exporting to the US market from the beginning of August 2025. Specifically, Brazil will be subject to a 50% tax and Indonesia will be subject to a 32% tax.

In that context, Vietnamese pepper has a clear competitive advantage, especially in the US market, which always requires stable supply and reasonable prices.

According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), the market had mixed developments last week. In India, domestic and export pepper prices decreased simultaneously. In Indonesia, black pepper prices decreased but white pepper prices remained stable. In Malaysia, white pepper export prices remained unchanged while other types decreased. On the contrary, Sri Lanka recorded an increase in domestic pepper prices.

In Vietnam, domestic black pepper prices have been on a downward trend over the past week, while white pepper prices have remained stable. Notably, Cambodia has seen an increase in black pepper prices, while the Chinese market has seen no changes in white pepper.
