According to a survey by Da Nang Newspaper at 1:00 pm on July 7, 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands remain stable, ranging from VND 96,000/kg to VND 96,500/kg. specific:

In Dak Lak province, coffee prices increased by VND200 compared to the previous trading session, currently trading at VND96,500/kg. This is the highest price in the region, showing that purchasing power in Dak Lak is improving.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices also increased by VND200, reaching VND96,000/kg. This increase reflects a trend of uniform price increases at major purchasing points.

In Gia Lai province, coffee prices increased slightly by VND100, remaining at VND96,400/kg. The smaller increase compared to Dak Lak and Lam Dong shows that the market in Gia Lai is relatively stable but still shows signs of price increase.

In Dak Nong province, coffee prices remained unchanged from the previous session, at VND96,400/kg. This shows that the market in Dak Nong is in a state of balance, with no signs of price increase or decrease.

Thus, after a slight adjustment on July 5, the coffee market today, July 7, 2025, continues to maintain a cautious state with a slight upward trend in some localities, demonstrating the stability and positive recovery of coffee prices in the Central Highlands region.

Although domestic coffee prices have recovered, compared to the peak set in April 2025 (when green coffee prices reached between VND129,300 and VND130,200/kg, as recorded on April 16, 2025), the current price is still about VND33,000/kg lower. This shows that the market is going through a significant adjustment period after a period of strong price increases.

In today's trading session, July 7, 2025, Arabica coffee prices on the New York Futures Exchange concentrated to decrease with the following levels: September 2025 futures reached 289.60 cents/lb (down 1.60 cents/lb, equivalent to -0.55%), December 2025 futures at 284.15 cents/lb (down 1.20 cents/lb, -0.42%), March 2026 futures reached 278.80 cents/lb (down 1.30 cents/lb, -0.46%), May 2026 futures at 273.95 cents/lb (down 1.50 cents/lb, -0.54%). The Arabica coffee market is under pressure to decrease prices and it is necessary to continue to monitor developments in the coming sessions.

Global coffee production forecast, up 2.45%, large oversupply

According to the latest report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), global coffee output in the 2024-2025 crop year is expected to reach about 174.4 million bags, up 2.98% compared to the 2023-2024 crop year. In particular, in the 2025-2026 crop year, when Brazil enters the favorable cycle and begins supplying coffee to the market, global output is estimated to reach 178.68 million bags, up 2.45% compared to the previous crop year.

specific, in Brazil, the USDA forecasts current crop production at 65 million bags, including 41 million bags of arabica and 24 million bags of robusta. Indonesia is expected to increase production by more than 2% to 11.25 million bags. Vietnam is expected to harvest about 31 million bags in the crop year starting in October 2025, up 6.9% from the 2023-2024 crop year.

However, global coffee consumption in the next crop year is only forecast at about 169.36 million bags, significantly lower than expected output, leading to the risk of oversupply in the market of up to more than 9 million bags.
