According to information from gardeners and traders on the afternoon of August 9, the domestic price of green coffee beans continued to increase by 2,000-3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating around 104,000 - 105,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces recorded a common price of 104,000 VND/kg, Lam Dong reached 104,000-105,000 VND/kg. Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai were recorded at around 104,000 VND/kg.
Thus, after continuously decreasing in previous weeks, down to around 90,000 VND/kg, coffee prices have recently rebounded.
Although the current price is much lower than the historical peak of more than 135,000 VND/kg set in early March 2025, it is still much higher than the common level of 40,000-50,000 VND/kg of previous years, which helps bring great profits to gardeners.
In the world market, the price of Robusta in London and Arabica in New York both increased sharply compared to the previous trading session. Specifically, the price of Robusta for September 2025 increased by 143 USD/ton, to 3,561 USD/ton; the price of November 2025 increased by 133 USD/ton, reaching 3,510 USD/ton. The further terms increased from 117 - 124 USD/ton.
On the New York floor, the price of Arabica futures for September 2025 increased by 11.55 cents/pound to 309.35 cents/pound; the price of December 2025 futures increased by 11.30 cents/pound to 302.45 cents/pound; the remaining futures increased by 8.65 - 9.95 cents/pound.
Similar to the domestic coffee price movement, after a period of continuous decline before, world coffee prices have increased in many consecutive sessions, and are currently recorded at the highest level in the past 3 weeks.
Many experts believe that coffee prices increased again in early August and have increased continuously in recent days due to the impact of many factors such as supply and demand, the recent decline in Brazil's exports, the trade story between the US and other countries, especially the US imposing high taxes on goods imported from Brazil...
According to a representative of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, in the long term, world coffee output will increase, but short-term coffee price movements are still difficult to predict due to the impact of many factors.
"The current sharp increase in coffee prices is a good opportunity for people and agents to sell their remaining products before the new harvest takes place in the last months of the year. Vietnam's coffee output this crop year is likely to increase well, but price movements are difficult to predict because they are affected by world prices," said the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association.
