On the morning of August 28, Janice Tjen failed to cause a surprise against her overwhelming opponent in the second round of the 2025 US Open. Raducanu won overwhelmingly with a score of 6-2, 6-1 in just over an hour.

Janice ( world No. 149) had a remarkable journey before facing Raducanu. She caused a surprise when she defeated No. 24 seed Veronika Kudermetova in the first round. However, against an in-form Emma Raducanu, Tjen's dream came to an end.

The 22-year-old Briton dropped just four games in his first two matches. After beating Ena Shibahara in the opening match, Raducanu continued his devastating form against Janice.

Raducanu's highlight of the match was her excellent serving ability. She faced three break points in the third game but saved them all, maintaining her lead.

"She was extremely dangerous. She played very well and I think any ball I put in the middle of the court that wasn't good enough was easily finished by her. So I'm really happy with my performance today," the Briton said after the match.

However, the Indonesian girl had a great journey at the 2025 US Open. Janice performed excellently in the qualifying round when she won all three matches without losing a set.

Including a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory over the third seed of the qualifying round, Aoi Ito, to enter the main round of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time.

Her appearance in the main draw was a historic milestone, making her the first Indonesian woman to enter the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament since Angelique Widjaja in 2004.

The draw put the 2002-born player up against 24th seed Veronika Kudermetova in the first round. In her Grand Slam debut, Tjen created one of the biggest surprises of the tournament, winning in three sets with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

Not only was it her first win at the official tour level, but it was also the first time she had beaten a player in the world's top 50.
