At around 4:40 a.m. on July 3, many residents living in alley C3, Pham Hung Street, Binh Hung Commune, Ho Chi Minh City were shocked to discover a fire broke out at two companies covering thousands of square meters in a residential area. At the time of the fire, there were only a few people inside the factory. The fire was so large that despite mobilizing a lot of fire fighting equipment, the fire spread quickly and widely, so the on-site forces could not control it.

The area inside the two companies was divided into many areas rented out to other companies, so it contained a lot of goods. When the fire broke out, it created a column of black smoke dozens of meters high, threatening the surrounding residential area.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department mobilized fire fighting teams of Zone 1, 7, 8, 20, team 3 and the department's special elite Fire Fighting and Rescue Police team with 29 specialized fire trucks and 199 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.
Major General Nguyen Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, was present at the scene and directly commanded the fire fighting.

Traffic police coordinated with the commune police to block off a section of Pham Hung Street to assist in firefighting. Because the fire was in an alley, officers and soldiers had to extend the water hose deep inside to reach and contain the fire.
The fire was extinguished, but the embers were still smoldering inside, so at 7:45 a.m., the fire flared up again. Firefighters continued to work to put out the fire and by 9:00 a.m. the same day, the fire was under control. Smoke was still coming from this area.

At the scene, 1700/5000m2 of 2 companies burned down along with many assets inside, no human casualties. Many walls inside the company collapsed after the fire. Units coordinated to organize an investigation of the scene to clarify the cause as well as calculate the damage after the fire.
