The Deep Sea Dreamer, which is expected to cost around $250 million to build, can run on the surface, dive close to the surface or go down to 100 meters deep.

American designer Steve Kozloff introduced a new submarine-yacht concept called Deep Sea Dreamer, Design Boom reported on March 30. The ship has two decks, can accommodate a total of six people and promises to bring unprecedented underwater experiences.

The 33-meter-long Deep Sea Dreamer is made of sturdy steel and has a total living area of 140 square meters. The ship has many large windows and a forward observation room, allowing passengers to enjoy the impressive ocean view while diving. There is also an observation room on the second deck with large reclining chairs allowing passengers to enjoy the view in a relaxed state. Passengers can easily move between decks thanks to a watertight elevator or ladder tube.

The Deep Sea Dreamer is powered by a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system consisting of two Cummins engines, one electric motor and 10 directional thrusters. It can operate as a normal yacht when on the surface and only needs to drop anchor to dock. On longer trips, the ship can sail just below the surface where weather conditions do not affect passengers, thereby increasing efficiency and range. In this case, the ship's snorkel mast will serve as a fresh air supply and exhaust.

Kozloff's yacht can dive to a maximum depth of 100 meters. If it runs entirely on electricity and is silent, the boat can travel 161 kilometers. It can stay anchored on the seabed for up to 7 days and is powered by batteries.

The Deep Sea Dreamer's top speed is 11.5 km/h, while its cruising speed is 11 km/h, achieved semi-submerged. Its estimated range is 11,112 km, which equates to about 42 days of operation at 11 km/h. Kozloff stressed that this is not a boat designed for speed, but rather for relaxation. The estimated cost of the ship is around $250 million.
