On November 27, according to Thanh Nien reporter's source, the Department of Planning and Investment of Ca Mau inspected the white-leg shrimp farm project using high technology - NG Vietnam in Tam Giang Tay commune, Ngoc Hien district, invested by NG Vietnam Seafood Joint Stock Company.
Previously, people in Tam Giang Tay commune reported that the province leased more than 68 hectares of land to NG Vietnam Seafood Joint Stock Company to carry out a high-tech shrimp farming project, but up to now the company has not operated, leaving the land fallow, causing waste of resources.
Meanwhile, in recent years, the general policy of the province is not to allow the development of industrial shrimp farming areas (intensive, super intensive) to preserve the mangrove forest area in the province in general and Ngoc Hien district in particular.
At the same time, people petitioned the People's Committee of Ca Mau province to reclaim the land area of NG Vietnam Seafood Joint Stock Company and re-allocate it to households in difficult circumstances who have no land for cultivation.
In response to public complaints, the Department of Planning and Investment of Ca Mau established an inspection team to inspect the above project. The inspection results showed that the company had basically complied with the provisions of the Enterprise Law; the order and procedures for implementing the investment project were in accordance with the provisions of the Investment Law.
However, at the time of inspection, the project had been suspended for many reasons but had not been reported to the competent authority. The inspection team requested and the company committed to bring the project back into operation in the first quarter of 2024 in accordance with the investment registration.
