Dong Thap: People are still hesitant to submit applications online

DNVN - After nearly two months of operation, the two-level government of Dong Thap province has operated synchronously and effectively, meeting the requirements of organizing the political system. However, according to a report from the provincial Department of Science and Technology, Dong Thap people are still hesitant to submit applications online.

On August 27, 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology's working delegation worked with the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Thap province to record results and resolve difficulties in implementing Government decrees.

Since the two-level government began operating on July 1, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology has advised the Provincial People's Committee to implement Decrees 132/2025/ND-CP and 133/2025/ND-CP, ensuring unified management in the field of science and technology. The province's telecommunications infrastructure continues to improve, with 100% of communes and wards having broadband fiber optic connections and 3G and 4G network coverage.

Dong Thap currently has 2,050 administrative procedures, of which 578 procedures are provided with full online public services. The administrative procedure information system has been connected to national databases, creating convenience for people and businesses.

In addition to the achievements, the province still faces some difficulties such as lack of specialized human resources, limited equipment at administrative agencies and inadequate awareness of digital transformation in some communes and wards. Commune-level officials lack experience in digital transformation and handling administrative procedures online, while people are still hesitant to submit documents online.

The Department of Science and Technology has proposed that the Ministry of Science and Technology support the implementation of solutions to improve the efficiency of digital transformation, as well as perfect software and databases to not depend on administrative boundaries.

Members of the working group then assisted in resolving questions and sharing experiences. The Ministry of Science and Technology pledged to continue to accompany and support the province in the process of operating a two-level government, helping to ensure effective science and technology activities.
