The exhibition “80 Years of Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” is taking place at the National Exhibition and Fair Center.
With a space of nearly 260,000 square meters and the participation of 34 provinces and cities along with many ministries, branches and businesses, locating and moving around the exhibition becomes a big challenge for visitors.
To solve this problem, Vietnamese engineers have developed and put into operation the 3D digital map model Digimap. This platform, compatible with all mobile devices, vividly recreates the entire exhibition area in 3D/2D format.

The exhibition areas are divided by color, each booth is accompanied by detailed introductory information and real images (Photo: Manh Hung).
Digimap divides display areas by color, providing detailed introductory information and real-life images for each booth.
Important amenities such as elevators, coffee areas, medical stations or restrooms are also clearly marked, making it easy for visitors to find them.
The highlight of the system is the ability to accurately locate the user's location. The organizers have arranged QR codes at many points in the exhibition.
Visitors simply scan the code with their phone camera, and the map will instantly show their current location.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Tran Minh Long, Director of Digitran Company, the developer of Digimap, said this is an opportunity for Vietnamese technology to contribute to honoring national history.

According to Mr. Tran Minh Long, the team only had 1 month to complete the digital map from the time they received the assignment from the organizing committee (Photo: Manh Hung).
Mr. Long also emphasized that the biggest challenge was time. While a similar project for the Japanese market required 6 months of preparation, Digitran's engineering team only had 1 month to complete this digital map.
Mr. Quang Minh ( Hanoi ), a visitor, commented: "The digital map helps me grasp location information and directions much easier than if I look at it on paper. However, for elderly people like me, I still need a little more initial guidance to be able to use it easily."
To ensure the system operates stably and does not overload when there is a large amount of traffic, Digimap is built on Amazon's prestigious cloud computing platform (AWS).
The exhibition is open until September 5.
