Google AI is increasingly useful in Vietnam

AI tools are increasingly diverse and useful. In addition to simple chatbots, users can access AI right on familiar platforms, serving information search, image creation, and complex document processing and synthesis.

Google has been launching and updating AI tools for various purposes recently. Here are some highly rated AI tools that have just been improved by Google with a series of new features.

AI Mode on Google Search

First unveiled at the I/O 2025 conference in May, AI Mode uses a customized version of the Gemini 2.5 model to answer questions and interact with users. This feature has just been expanded by Google to the Vietnamese market, although it only supports English.

AI Mode is essentially a more advanced version of AI Overviews. Data is collected from various sources on the Internet, then aggregated and summarized by AI to give the most concise and accurate response.

Users can enable AI Mode from the Google Search homepage (mobile app) or in the results screen (desktop). AI Mode allows for asking long, complex questions that previously required multiple queries on Google Search.

After a testing period, Google said that AI Mode users tend to ask questions 2-3 times longer than traditional search keywords.

“This feature is especially useful for discovery tasks like comparing products, planning a trip, or learning complex instructions,” according to a Google representative.

Some questions you can ask AI Mode include: “Which park near me has a soccer field and nice outdoor space for a picnic?” or “I want to learn about different coffee brewing methods. Please create a comparison chart comparing the differences in taste, ease of use, and tools needed.” The AI ​​will compile the results with references.

According to Google, AI Mode uses query fan-out, breaking down questions into subtopics and searching. Users can ask follow-up questions to dig deeper, and even combine formats like voice or images with Google Lens.

Other Google Search features are still supported in AI Mode, including the Knowledge Graph, which updates topic information in real time, alongside shopping data when searching for specific items.

At I/O 2025, Google announced plans to integrate AI Mode into other apps. This means that in the future, AI Mode could extract information from emails or calendar appointments to find relevant information.

Google emphasizes that AI Mode is developed on a verification and ranking system, ensuring the authenticity of information. If AI does not find reliable results, the feature will send a list of links for users to proactively refer to.

“Like any early-stage AI product, the results you see won't always be right, but we're committed to continuous improvement,” a Google representative emphasized.

Edit photos in Gemini

First launched in April, the feature allows users to provide an original photo and ask Gemini to edit it as desired using natural language.

After a testing period, Google has just announced an improved feature through the DeepMind model, or Gemini 2.5 Flash Image “Nano Banana”.

One of the standout upgrades is maintaining consistency in character appearance across photos. According to Google, the tool can retain the appearance and demeanor of friends, family, and pets regardless of changes in hairstyle or outfit.

Users can ask Gemini to combine photos to appear with pets, change the room background, or superimpose subjects anywhere in the world . The feature even supports converting edited photos into videos.

With the design blending feature, simply upload a photo of boots and a rose. The tool will then combine the two objects, resulting in a pair of boots with a rose motif.

After the first command, the user can ask Gemini to continue editing based on the results. In the new version, the old details are preserved, and the accuracy is improved.

Like other AI tools, Google emphasizes the process of creating safe content. Gemini images include a watermark and a hidden SynthID to identify AI-generated content.

Video Overviews on NotebookLM

After a short time of release, Google said that Video Overviews now supports 80 languages, including Vietnamese. This mode allows converting document content into videos, helping to grasp information quickly and more easily.

According to Google, Video Overviews is a “visual alternative” to Audio Overviews, a feature that aggregates content into podcasts with AI guests.

The content created by Video Overviews comes in the form of presentation slides with illustrations, diagrams, quotes, and figures extracted directly from the document. For longer content, the feature can explain data, summarize processes, and visualize some complex concepts.

The video creation feature on NotebookLM now supports Vietnamese.

NotebookLM videos vary in length depending on the amount of content included, with an average creation time of 5-10 minutes. In addition to images, videos also include narration. The design, layout, and fonts in the videos follow Google's general standards.

Google is also upgrading Audio Overviews. Non-English content will move from short to full format, providing content with the same depth, structure, and nuance as the English version.

In addition to converting content to video or podcast, NotebookLM still supports asking analytical questions about the original document in the text interaction between screens.

The free version of NotebookLM is limited to the number of times you can use it per day. If you want to create more videos, you have to buy packages like Google AI Pro (starting at $24/month).
