AC Milan buy Nkunku from Chelsea

On the afternoon of August 30, AC Milan officially announced the signing of French striker Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea on a 5-year contract.

Nkunku will play for AC Milan this season.

Financial details were not disclosed, but British media reported that the 27-year-old's transfer fee was around 42 million euros ( $49.17 million ). Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in June 2023 on a six-year contract, after shining brightly in the Bundesliga.

However, at Stamford Bridge, the French international struggled to maintain a regular starting position. In 62 appearances for Chelsea, he scored 18 goals. Despite this, Nkunku still managed to win the Conference League and Club World Cup with the London team last season.

At Milan, Nkunku will become one of the notable recruits alongside Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci and Pervis Estupinan, in an effort to rebuild the squad after the "Rossoneri" only finished in 8th place in Serie A last season.

In recent years, Chelsea have sold a number of players to AC Milan, creating a strong transfer link between the two clubs.
