Compared to the match lost to Chinese Taipei on the opening day on June 28, the U21 Vietnam team has changed the starting lineup against U21 Thailand. Setter Lai Thi Khanh Huyen was trusted by coach Le Trong Linh to be the main setter.

Right from the start of set 1, U21 Thailand quickly created an advantage in points thanks to their superior first-step, second-pass and blocking abilities. However, the bright spot of U21 Vietnam was their good blocking ability, helping the girls in blue create a dramatic and tense match.

The turning point of the set came when main striker Dang Hong equalized 18-18. From that point on, the U21 Vietnam girls played with great spirit, bringing the match into a tense overtime series. However, Kuttika's experience along with her superior class helped U21 Thailand win the first set with a score of 33-31.

Right at the beginning of set 2, the match was still balanced and attractive. The pace of the match slowed down a bit, but U21 Vietnam showed solidity and initiative in their play. Instead of focusing only on the main striker Lao Thi Hong, the team deployed more diverse tactics. Many attackers had the ball and scored points, such as Bich Hue and Quynh Huong.

Not only did Khanh Huyen distribute the ball well to the sidelines, she also created opportunities for Nhu Anh and Phuong Quynh to score with quick attacks at position 3. The diversity in playing style helped U21 Vietnam to overcome strongly, winning with a score of 25-20, equalizing 1-1.

Entering set 3, both teams created a dramatic score chase. However, U21 Vietnam continuously made mistakes in the attack, creating conditions for U21 Thailand to increase the gap to 25-22.

However, with a never-give-up spirit and a tenacious defense, Vietnam's young talents still stubbornly pursued closely. Unfortunately for the home team, Thailand U21 under the leadership of Kuttika showed stubbornness.

They played more effectively in long-range situations. The main striker who used to play for Duc Giang Chemicals was also the one who brought home the decisive points. In set 4, U21 Vietnam lost 18-25.

In the end, the U21 Vietnam team let their opponent U21 Thailand win 3-1 (33-31, 20-25, 25-22, 25-18).
