(Dan Tri) - After 2 years of construction, the T3 passenger terminal construction project has taken shape and is in the final stages of installation and architecture before being put into operation in April 2025.

The Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 construction project is nearing completion with 83% of the total work completed. The project is expected to be put into operation on April 30, 2025, the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, and at the same time resolve the long-standing overload situation at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Terminal 3 is planned on a land area of over 16 hectares, located between the operating airport and the defense area.

The high-rise parking lot project combines non-aviation services with a complex of 2 basements, 4 upper floors and a 3-storey motorbike parking lot connected by a bridge corridor on a total floor area of 130,000m2. This will be a parking lot, commercial center, hotel, restaurant serving passengers, employees and local residents.

The T3 terminal construction project will start in December 2022, with 3 main items including: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking garage combined with non-aviation services and overpass system in front of the terminal. The total investment is 10,990 billion VND.

According to the design, T3 terminal will accommodate 20 million passengers per year. The terminal has 1 basement, 4 upper floors, and a total floor area of 112,500m2. The terminal is connected to the parking lot via 26 aircraft gates (13 telescopic gates and 13 bus gates); there are 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands. The project not only improves aviation infrastructure but also plays a strategic role in completely solving the congestion at Tan Son Nhat airport for many years.
