VNU-HCM appoints key leaders of University of Health Sciences

(NLDO) - After only 1 year of operation, the University of Health Sciences - VNU-HCM has completed its organizational structure with 7 key members.

On the afternoon of July 17, the University of Health Sciences - VNU-HCM, held a ceremony to announce and award the decisions to appoint the school's Principal and Vice Principal.

Associate Professor - Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNU-HCM, presented the decision to appoint the Rector and Vice Rector of the University of Health Sciences.

Accordingly, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang, Director of the Center for Research on Nanostructured and Molecular Materials, holds the position of Principal; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Vu Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, holds the position of Vice Principal; MSc. Nguyen Hoang Dung, interim Vice Principal holds the position of Vice Principal of the University of Health Sciences.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNU-HCM, congratulated the appointed personnel and reminded them of the three values that the school needs to preserve and promote in the future.

First, the University of Health Sciences is a special school, gathering many leading professors in the field of health sciences to participate in teaching. The place most clearly demonstrates love for the profession, teaching and learning with heart, and respect between teachers and students.

Second, the school has a young, enthusiastic workforce, a strength the school needs to maintain.

Third, schools need to focus on developing training programs, assessingeducational quality, and improving facilities to create the best learning environment for students.

Taking on the new assignment, Professor Phan Bach Thang and the board of directors committed to building and developing the school on four pillars: building a united collective, professionalism, utilizing and exploiting the strength of the system and most importantly, close cooperation between the School - Institute - Enterprise - locality.

The University of Health Sciences is the 8th member university of VNU-HCM, established in June 2024. After only 1 year of operation, the school has quickly completed its organizational structure including the Party Committee, the School Council and the Board of Directors with 7 members, including:

1. Professor Phan Bach Thang - Principal

2. Prof. Dr. Dang Van Phuoc - Honorary Principal

3. Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Pham Anh Vu Thuy - Vice Principal

4. MSc. Nguyen Hoang Dung - Vice Principal

5. Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Vo Thanh Toan - Concurrent Vice Principal

6. Prof. Dr. Le Minh Tri - Interim Vice Principal

7. Prof. Dr. Tran Quyet Tien - Interim Vice Principal

Professor Phan Bach Thang was born in 1979 in Thai Binh (now Hung Yen province). He received his PhD in advanced materials science and technology from Sungkyunkwan University (Korea) in 2009; he was appointed Professor of Physics in 2022.
