In this Census, the entire Lao Cai province plans to collect 290,754 household ballots. However, according to statistics, by 10:00 a.m. on July 14, only 82,984 household ballots had been completed, reaching 28.54%.
The rural and agricultural census is one of the three largest statistical censuses, organized every 10 years, to collect comprehensive information on agriculture, forestry, fisheries and the status of rural development nationwide.
The 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census will be collected within 30 days, starting from July 1, 2025 to July 30, 2025.
To ensure the completion of the General Census on schedule, with high quality and efficiency, on July 15, the Steering Committee for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census of Lao Cai province issued Document No. 277/BCĐT-TĐTNN on accelerating the progress of information collection, requesting the People's Committees of communes and wards and the Steering Committees of communes and wards to focus on seriously and urgently implementing a number of contents.
In particular, it is required to continue to strengthen the direction of propaganda work on the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census on mass media in appropriate forms.
Organize meetings or integrate propaganda content into Party cell meetings, village/residential group meetings and mass organizations (in July 2025) to announce the policy and plan for the General Census of rural and agricultural areas in the area.
The Commune Steering Committee directly directs and closely monitors the progress of the General Census in the area. Mobilizes the maximum number of investigators from the commune and ward (recruited by the People's Committee of the old commune and ward and the grassroots statistics office before July 1, 2025); arranges reasonable time to speed up the progress of information collection at households engaged in agricultural, forestry and fishery activities.
Coordinate with grassroots statistics to regularly inspect and supervise investigation team leaders and investigators, promptly remove arising difficulties and problems.
Require investigators to strictly comply with the plan, content, and investigation process that has been trained; regularly update professional announcements of the grassroots statistical agency to promptly correct errors in the process of collecting information in the area.
This is an important and urgent task, therefore the Provincial Steering Committee requires localities to focus highly and urgently implement drastic measures to complete the entire work of collecting information for the General Census to ensure quality and meet the general schedule of the province (no later than July 31, 2025).
If any locality is late or fails to complete, affecting the overall progress of the province, the Chairman of the People's Committee of that commune or ward shall be responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee.
