The congresses at all levels of the Vietnam News Agency Party Committee took place in the context of simultaneously implementing many important political tasks, reorganizing the apparatus, and implementing two-level local government. Party committees at all levels focused on directing the successful organization of the congresses to ensure progress. The quality of the congresses was affirmed in both aspects of documents and personnel work at the Party Committee level, creating momentum for the successful organization of the 27th Congress of the Vietnam News Agency Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
Towards the 27th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam News Agency, VietnamPlus E-newspaper reporter interviewed Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy General Director of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Nguyen Tuan Hung.
Grassroots Congress: 100% on schedule
- Towards the 27th Party Congress of VNA, the Party Committees and Party cells have organized grassroots congresses. How do you evaluate this work?
Comrade Nguyen Tuan Hung : The Party Committee of VNA has thoroughly grasped and fully implemented the directive documents of the Central Committee and the higher-level Party Committee on the preparation and organization of the congress for the 2025-2030 term to all grassroots party organizations in the Party Committee.
The Party Committee directed the successful organization of a model congress at the Party Cell of the Foreign News Editorial Board (January 10, 2025) and the Party Committee of the VNA Office (March 20, 2025). After the model congress, the Party Committee held a conference to review experiences, noted new points in the guidelines on election regulations within the Party and asked the grassroots Party Committees to review experiences to organize the congress well in their units.
The organization of grassroots congresses took place in a short time, in the context of many new regulations, but the Party cells and Party committees seriously implemented and strictly followed the regulations and instructions of the superiors.
Of the total 32 party organizations under the Party Committee of VNA, 28 held congresses with four contents as prescribed; four held congresses with two contents and appointed Party committees and delegates to attend the Congress of VNA Party Committee delegates due to the merger after the organizational arrangement. By May 31, 2025, all grassroots congresses had been completed on schedule, achieving 100% of the planned results.
The quality of the congress is clearly demonstrated through documents and personnel, creating a solid foundation for the success of the 27th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam News Agency, term 2025-2030.
For the two new Party cells established on July 1, 2025 due to the consolidation of units according to administrative boundaries, the Party Committee has appointed Party committees and sent delegates to attend the Vietnam News Agency Party Congress according to regulations.
Add staff with technical expertise
- The 27th Party Congress of VNA for the 2025-2030 term is being held at a time of many innovations. Could you please tell us how the preparations for the Congress have been going?
Comrade Nguyen Tuan Hung : This Congress is held in a context of great historical significance, when the entire Party, people and army are striving to realize the aspiration to develop the country in the new era - the era of national growth.
The Congress is a broad political activity, demonstrating the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development" throughout the Party.
The Congress has the task of summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2025 term, comprehensively assessing the achieved results, analyzing the causes of limitations, drawing lessons and proposing directions, goals and solutions for the new term; at the same time, concretizing the major policies and orientations in the documents of the 14th National Party Congress and the 1st Congress of Government Party Delegates.
The draft Political Report - the central document of the Congress - closely followed the direction of the Central Committee and the practical operations of VNA, demonstrating the strategic vision to 2030, with orientation to 2045.
The Executive Committee's review report was also seriously prepared, ensuring self-criticism and criticism, accurately reflecting the essence of leadership and direction during the term.
The organization of collecting opinions on the Congress documents was carried out democratically and responsibly, promoting the collective intelligence of all cadres and party members.
- As a national news agency with 80 years of history, what are the notable new points of this Congress, comrade?
Comrade Nguyen Tuan Hung : A notable new point is that the personnel work for the 2025-2030 term is carried out strictly, in accordance with regulations, ensuring political standards, ethical qualities, professional capacity, political mettle and prestige in the unit.
In the context of restructuring the apparatus, the Party Committee and Party committees at all levels have done a good job of ideological work, grasping aspirations, promptly answering and removing difficulties, creating high consensus and unity among cadres and Party members.
In particular, the Party Committee of VNA has thoroughly grasped the policy of promoting digital transformation throughout the industry, thereby building a personnel plan with a reasonable structure, adding many cadres with technology expertise to the Party Committee and the Party Committee's Inspection Committee - this is a breakthrough in line with development requirements in the new period.
In the context of restructuring the apparatus, the Party Committee and Party committees at all levels have done a good job of ideological work, grasping aspirations, promptly answering and removing difficulties, creating high consensus and unity among cadres and Party members.

The entire Party Committee of Vietnam News Agency has nearly 1,040 members out of a total of nearly 2,000 cadres, civil servants and employees in the whole sector, working in provinces and cities across the country.
