The owner of this collection of 20 McLaren supercars is the late businessman Mansour Ojjeh. He was the co-founder of the TAG Group and began investing in the McLaren F1 racing team in 1984. He was also the architect behind the McLaren and TAG-Porsche engine combination – a combination that helped the team win three world championships during the heyday of Alain Prost and Niki Lauda.
Not only a strategic investor, Ojjeh is also a person with a deep passion for McLaren commercial vehicles, contributing to shaping the design philosophy and high-performance spirit for the company's civilian car lines. The late businessman Mansour Ojjeh's car collection includes 20 McLarens, all of which are the last of each model line, completed by McLaren with final technical upgrades and refinements. Each McLaren supercar is individually handcrafted and cared for by McLaren's dedicated personalisation department dedicated to Ojjeh.
The most notable is the last McLaren F1 ever built, with an exclusive orange-yellow exterior, custom-painted by the manufacturer at Ojjeh’s request. The car has only driven about 1,800 km and is still in factory-fresh condition. In addition to the McLaren F1, the collection also includes iconic models such as: McLaren P1 and P1 GTR; McLaren Senna and Senna GTR; McLaren Speedtail, Sabre, Elva and many high-performance Longtail (LT) versions. Most of Mansour Ojjeh's McLaren supercars have barely been used, some are only started periodically and are maintained to museum standards. The sale of the collection is being handled by Tom Hartley Jnr, one of Europe’s most respected supercar dealers. Mr Hartley said the Ojjeh family wanted to find a single buyer, in order to preserve the value and integrity of the collection.
The value of the lot comes not only from its limited number or original condition, but also from its symbolic meaning associated with the man who changed McLaren. This is considered one of the most expensive and comprehensive private McLaren collections ever brought to market. With an estimated value of over 70 million USD (about more than 1,580 billion VND), collectors believe that the collection can be compared to other legendary collections in the history of world supercars.
