Shortly after a group of unidentified gunmen attacked the Qatari Embassy in Sudan, the Qatari Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the incident, saying that "Embassy staff had been evacuated earlier and... no diplomats or embassy staff were injured."

Qatar's Foreign Ministry once again called on all parties to "immediately stop the fighting in Sudan, exercise maximum restraint... and avoid civilian casualties".

Qatar did not say who was responsible for the attack, but a statement from the Sudanese government blamed the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Amid ongoing fighting between the Sudanese army and the RSF, the embassies of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Türkiye have also been attacked in recent weeks.

The attack on the Qatari embassy came a day after Arab leaders called on Sudan's warring sides to stop fighting at an Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia. Several countries and organizations issued statements condemning the move.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a statement affirming that Abu Dhabi strongly condemns criminal acts aimed at destabilizing security and stability; emphasizing the importance of protecting diplomatic buildings in accordance with the regulations governing and regulating diplomatic activities.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also issued a statement expressing solidarity with Qatar and condemning all acts of violence and vandalism, especially those targeting diplomatic buildings and disregarding the inviolability of diplomats.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statement affirmed its complete rejection of all forms of violence and sabotage targeting diplomatic missions in Sudan, considering this a blatant violation of international law and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strongly condemns the storming and vandalism of the Qatari Embassy in Khartoum by armed forces, as well as all forms of violence and vandalism, especially targeting diplomatic missions.

GCC Secretary General Jassem Al-Budaiwi reiterated his call on the conflicting parties to act swiftly to end military operations, exercise maximum restraint, avoid escalation and respect international agreements and diplomatic norms.

He called on all parties to the conflict to engage seriously in negotiations in Jeddah, towards reaching a comprehensive political declaration that would bring security, stability and prosperity to the country and its people.
