On the evening of July 5, a rare accident occurred on Au Co Street (Lien Chieu Ward) when heavy rain suddenly caused deep flooding, and strong currents swept a man over 50 years old into a drainage canal. specifically, at around 7pm the same day, this man was driving a motorbike through a section of Au Co Street that was deeply flooded due to heavy rain. When he arrived in front of house number 573 Au Co (near Thanh Vinh market), the victim was suddenly swept away by the strong current and slid down the drainage canal leading to Hoa Khanh industrial park. At the time of the incident, heavy rain caused the road to be flooded more than 0.5m deep, with strong currents. The motorbike was swept away, while the victim only managed to cling to a bush growing along the bank, about 30m from the accident site.
Heavy rain from the afternoon to the evening of July 5 caused many main roads in Da Nang City to be deeply flooded, causing traffic jams and difficulties for people and vehicles.
Upon receiving the report from local residents, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department quickly dispatched forces and specialized vehicles to the scene. After only about 15 minutes, the police officers were able to reach the victim and take him out of the dangerous present, handing him over to his family in a safe condition.
According to records, from around 5:00 pm on July 5, heavy rain and thunderstorms poured down on a large area, causing many inner-city roads in Da Nang such as Ham Nghi, Nguyen Van Linh, Le Duan, Hai Phong , Ton Duc Thang, Le Thanh Nghi, Au Co... to be deeply flooded, with water rising higher than half a motorbike's wheel. Many vehicles stalled in the middle of the road, causing local traffic jams, and water flooded into shops, causing property damage. This is the second time this summer that Da Nang has had to deal with serious flooding in a short period of time.

In the evening of the same day, information from Hai Van Ward Police (Da Nang City) said: The unit had just rescued 6 people isolated on a piece of land due to high water pouring in during the night. specific, at around 20:45 on July 2, during a patrol, Hai Van Ward Police and local security forces discovered a group of 6 young people (all reflected in Da Nang City) who had come to play and set up tents in an empty land area near Thac Co, Gian Bi village, Hai Van ward (Hoa Bac commune, old Hoa Vang district) and were suddenly isolated by the stream water. Because the location of this piece of land is near a dam of the lake, the group of 6 young people could not reach the shore, while the water continued to rise.
To rescue the people, Hai Van Ward Police immediately coordinated with local security forces to quickly deploy rescue work. After nearly 1 hour of rescue, the group of young people trapped in the middle of the water were brought safely to shore.
Da Nang police recommend that people limit traveling through low-lying roads during prolonged heavy rain and strong currents.
Through these incidents, Hai Van Ward Police advised residents and tourists not to go out at night in the forest, especially during the rainy season. Nighttime poses many potential risks such as slippery conditions, especially when sudden high water flows from upstream, which can cause flash floods, sweeping away people and vehicles. Authorities also recommend that residents take the initiative to avoid and limit travel through low-lying roads when heavy rains last for a long time, water flows rapidly, and poses many unpredictable dangers.
