At the press conference to launch the film on the afternoon of July 15 in Hanoi , Meritorious Artist Le Manh, Acting Director of the Television Drama Center (Vietnam Television) - the film's production unit, said that "With you, there is peace" was made at a time when localities were implementing the streamlining and merging of the administrative apparatus with many problems arising at the grassroots level. The film explores the hidden corners of rural life, reflecting the fierce, courageous and emotional involvement of the People's Public Security force.
According to Meritorious Artist Le Manh, the film's consistent message "Resolve conflicts early, put out small fires to prevent big fires", is encoded by director Nguyen Danh Dung and his crew through familiar, simple, everyday images.
“With you, there is peace” tells the story of Huy, a police officer who was transferred to Tien Phong commune to hold the position of Commune Police Chief, at a time when complicated security and order incidents were constantly occurring there. Not only facing conflicts from the people and local underground forces, Huy also fell into a difficult situation when he discovered that the head of the “interest group” manipulating the locality was his brother-in-law Bang – the person he always respected.
Between the choice of remaining silent to keep the family together or fighting to protect the real peace for the people, Huy must face inner conflicts and professional pressures. His decision-making journey is the main emotional thread of the film - where reason and emotion are always intertwined in a challenging way.
“With you, there is peace” reflects a major policy of the Party and State to bring regular police to the communes, while realistically depicting the life and work of the police force at the grassroots level. The film not only focuses on tense investigations, but also interweaves familiar, everyday life. Among them, there is the story of a 14-year-old boy named Thien who dropped out of school to become a gangster; the land dispute between the brothers Hoa - Thuan - Qua; divorced couples still having to live together in the same house…
Through this, the audience understands more clearly the invisible pressures that the commune police have to bear, as they are both law enforcers and "psychologists" who help people distinguish right from wrong, and influence and persuade violators with both reason and emotion.
Meritorious Artist Danh Dung shows his confidence in "softening" a heavily political topic, turning macro social issues into emotional stories that are easy for the public to sympathize with.
According to the director, the film is set in the context from the beginning of the merger policy until the time of the vote of confidence and public opinion on the amendment of the Constitution. The film will feature hot issues of social concern such as VNeID, fighting against counterfeit and poor quality goods... All of these stories are built in a simple and familiar way for viewers. The crew hopes to highlight the role of the regular police force at the grassroots level in firmly grasping the area, creating consensus and maintaining stability when the Party and the State carry out major political tasks.
The film is worth looking forward to as it gathers a cast of famous and talented actors. Among them, Tuan Tu plays Huy, this is the first time he transforms into a police officer. Vinh Xuong continues to affirm the image of a "villain boss" in the role of Bang - a brother-in-law in the guise of a businessman but full of schemes. Besides, there are many veteran faces such as People's Artist Bui Bai Binh, Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy, Meritorious Artist Thanh Binh, Meritorious Artist Ba Anh, Meritorious Artist Quy Don, Meritorious Artist Thai Son, Van Dung, Thu Quynh... and young actors such as Le Bong, Tuan Anh, Gia Huy...
