Two experts, Alpa Momaya, head of nutrition, Healthify Wellness Center (India) and Dr. Dilip Gude, senior consultant, Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad (India), also agree with Dr. Lohia that ginger water has many benefits, especially for the digestive system. It can help alleviate digestive problems and nausea. It can also have a soothing effect on the stomach and help relieve abdominal pain.

Dr. Gude adds that ginger can also improve the spasmodic symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and acid-induced stomach ulcers.
