The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place from June 25 to 28 (June 25 is for exam registration procedures; June 26 to 27 is for exam organization; June 28 is the backup exam day). This is the first year that the high school graduation exam will be organized according to the 2018 General Education Program. Candidates will take the exam in 3 sessions, 1 session less than before. Specifically, on the morning of June 26, candidates will take the Literature exam (essay format), on the afternoon of June 26, candidates will take the Math exam (multiple choice), and on the morning of June 27, they will take the elective exam (multiple choice).
A notable new point in the high school graduation assessment is the increase in the proportion of transcript scores from 30% to 50%. This reflects the spirit of the 2018 General Education Program, which is to value the learning and training process of students throughout 3 years of high school, instead of just evaluating through an exam. Vocational certificate points are eliminated for candidates studying the high school program; points for IT, foreign language certificates, and vocational secondary school certificates are eliminated for candidates studying the continuing education program. Foreign candidates with a Vietnamese language certificate that meets the requirements are exempted from the Literature exam. Foreign language certificates are still used for exam exemption but are no longer converted into 10 points in graduation recognition.
In particular, this year's exam also marked a step forward in technology application when, for the first time, the form of transporting electronic exam papers from the council to the printing point was applied using a secure encrypted transmission line of the Government Cipher Committee, helping to ensure the safety of the exam papers, limit risks, and save time and transportation manpower.
The 2025 high school graduation exam has two groups of candidates, corresponding to two educational programs: the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program. In Dak Lak, there are 22,103 candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program at 32 testing locations and 556 candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program at a single testing location, the Provincial Continuing Education Center.

Candidates taking the exam under the 2006 General Education Program are those who have completed high school before 2025 but have not graduated, or have graduated but registered to retake the exam for university admission.
To ensure the rights and create favorable conditions for students, this year's exam will still be organized with two separate exam codes with structures and contents suitable for each program. Candidates studying the 2006 General Education Program will take the exam according to the 2024 method, so students can rest assured that they will not have to study the old program but take the exam according to the new program.
The provincial education sector has synchronously deployed many contents to best prepare for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, ensuring the exam takes place safely, seriously and effectively.
In terms of expertise, the Department of Education and Training directs professional groups and teams at high schools and Continuing Education Centers to closely follow the reference exam questions for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam of the Ministry of Education and Training to teach, review and organize mock exams for students, helping them get familiar with the format, time and level of the exam. At the same time, direct schools to complete the subject program within the prescribed time; support students in difficult circumstances and ethnic minority students to review so that they have full knowledge and skills to participate in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam with the best results.
Regarding organization, the education sector proactively prepares facilities and equipment at examination sites, test printing and grading sites in accordance with regulations. Professional training is provided to the examination team to strictly implement the regulations, from principals, invigilators to inspectors and supervisors, combining both in-person and online, ensuring a firm grasp of examination regulations and timely response to unexpected situations that may arise during the examination process.
In particular, ensuring safety and security for the exam is a top priority. The Provincial Steering Committee for the Exam coordinates with local Party committees and authorities to organize inspection and supervision teams before and during the exam. Along with that, the Department of Education and Training also actively mobilizes organizations and individuals to support candidates in remote areas so that no student has to drop out of the exam due to economic or travel difficulties.
