A few weeks after losing in the Roland Garros semi-finals, Novak Djokovic is facing the risk of facing Jannik Sinner again in the Wimbledon semi-finals this year. This confrontation promises to be extremely attractive, as Sinner is becoming Nole's formidable nemesis on major fronts.
According to the bracket, sixth seed Novak Djokovic will start his journey to conquer Wimbledon with a match against French player Alexandre Muller. If he passes the first round, Nole is likely to face fourth seed Jack Draper in the quarterfinals.
However, Draper will also face a big challenge, when he is likely to meet the in-form player Alexander Bublik in round 3.
Djokovic's first big test at Wimbledon is expected to be in the fourth round, when he could face 11th seed Alex de Minaur.
The encounters between Djokovic and Sinner are always full of fate. Djokovic defeated Sinner in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon 2022 and the semi-finals 2023.
However, in the last two years, Jannik Sinner has become Djokovic's "nemesis". That is because Sinner has continuously defeated Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters final and the semi-finals at Grand Slam tournaments in Australia and France.
In contrast to Djokovic, the path of world No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner seems to be easier. He will open Wimbledon with a match against compatriot Luca Nardi. Sinner's draw is not too difficult with lower seeds like Denis Shapovalov and Grigor Dimitrov, creating conditions for him to advance.
Although he is currently underrated, with his strong will and desire to compete, Djokovic is expected to still be able to make things difficult for the Italian No. 1 player, and may even create a surprise.
In the lower bracket, Carlos Alcaraz begins his Wimbledon title defence against 38-year-old veteran Fabio Fognini. The Spaniard could then face Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev in the next rounds.
After that, the potential opponent awaiting the 22-year-old star is likely to be Holger Rune. Alcaraz enters the tournament with an impressive 18-match winning streak - a personal record that promises to bring explosive performances.
If he wins, Alcaraz is expected to meet Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals, who is set to face a tough first-round match against Arthur Rinderknech. Zverev could then face a strong grass-court opponent in Taylor Fritz.
Wimbledon officially kicks off its main draw on Monday, June 30. Alcaraz and Sinner are scheduled to play in the afternoon and evening (Vietnam time). Meanwhile, Djokovic's schedule has yet to be announced by the organizers.
