Commitment to 3 signatures, only let fans ask for 1 signature
Mr. AH ( Da Nang ) said he bought a ticket for 3 million VND to meet his idols in the MU team and ask for their autographs on the evening of June 26. According to the Organizing Committee's regulations, fans will be able to ask for 3 autographs from 3 stars. Mr. H. brought his items with the hope of getting the autographs of Michael Owen, Paul Scholes and Wes Brown, but in the end he only got Michael Owen's autograph.

He added that when lining up to sign, the organizers suddenly announced that they could only bring in one item and get one signature, while they had previously advertised 3 items and 3 signatures. In addition, two former players Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs had flight problems and could not arrive in Da Nang on time on the evening of June 26.
"The two former players can sympathize with the incident, but calling out 3 signatures and then only allowing fans to ask for 1 is unacceptable. I asked the organizers and they answered vaguely, "You have to help me with luck, if you can squeeze in, you can, if not, that's fine." This is the fan's right when spending money to buy tickets, not luck or chance," he said indignantly.
Like Mr. H., Mr. TA was equally frustrated when he traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang to meet and ask for autographs from MU football legends. “From the beginning, the organizers advertised that 6 players would be divided into 2 areas, each area had 3 players, and fans who bought tickets would get 3 autographs. I sympathize with the 2 players who had problems, but the other stars there should at least compensate the fans. We waited all night, endured the heat and were only given 1 autograph in return. We spent money to meet our idols and experience it, but it was no different from begging,” he frankly said.

Many MU fans have spent a lot of time and money to come to Da Nang to meet the legends. |
After receiving feedback from MU fans, on June 27, the Organizing Committee sent an apology letter and announced that the two legends Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes would still be present in full for the match on the night of June 27 and the Fan Zone on June 28 as originally planned. On the same day, the Organizing Committee also announced that spectators who bought Fan Sign tickets for 3 million VND and only received 1 signature will be able to sign additional ones at 4:15 pm - 4:30 pm on June 27 at Hoa Xuan Stadium. When arriving, they can bring 2 items to receive 2 more signatures. MU stars will be arranged to sit at two tables.
“When we came in to ask for autographs, we were “herded” away very quickly, as if they wanted to chase us out, it looked very messy. We were also not allowed to take pictures with the legends. This not only does not pay enough benefits to the fans, but also makes our image worse in the eyes of the legends,” said Mr. AH (Da Nang).
"Fool" fans for the second time
Before the friendly match, MU fans eagerly went to Hoa Xuan stadium to ask for more signatures. However, when lining up to go inside, the organizers "suddenly" announced again that they could only bring 1 item and ask for 1 signature. Fans were furious because this time the organizers continued to break their commitment, not fulfilling their rights for the money and effort they spent.
“I came here from Binh Duong , waited and spent a lot of money. The first time I sympathized with the organizers' mistake, but the second time they still went back on their word, saying I could bring 2 items and get 2 signatures, but when I got there they said I could only get 1 and didn't explain anything further. Is this any different from fraud?”, Mr. HN (Binh Duong) was angry.

Reflecting to reporters, Mr. HM (Da Nang) considered this the worst experience in his "idol chasing" times. "We spent money but what we received was the lies of the organizers. An event of such magnitude, flashy promotion, promising to bring experiences that are not easy to have but in fact, it led fans by the nose again and again. Many of my friends spent tens of millions of VND, traveled thousands of kilometers to Da Nang and received resentment. The organizers need to have a satisfactory solution for the fans, because collecting their money but not paying full benefits is no different from hanging a goat's head and selling dog meat," he said.
Not only those who missed out on signatures on the night of June 26 and the afternoon of June 27 are upset, many other MU fans are also confused about Combo Ball tickets on the afternoon of June 28. This ticket costs 6 million VND, with benefits such as signing autographs, observing the activities of MU stars...
“I bought 2 tickets, spending 9 million VND for two meetings with the star. The first time was so disappointing, it made me lose interest and really confused, losing faith in the next meeting,” Mr. HN (Binh Duong) shared more.
Meanwhile, Ms. MT (Ho Chi Minh City) was disappointed because the initial announcement said that she would receive a ball with 6 signatures, but now the organizers announced that she would only receive 1 signature from a legend. She asked for the reason but the organizers did not explain, only asking for sympathy. "People spend time and money to meet their idols in person and fulfill their wishes, but they keep asking for sympathy. The organization is extremely unprofessional," Ms. T. commented.
On the evening of June 27, a friendly match between MU legends Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Michael Owen, Wes Brown, Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke and young players with Vietnamese football stars took place at Hoa Xuan Stadium. Michael Owen opened the scoring, with a 4-2 victory for MU.
