
The conference was chaired by Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan, organized in both direct and online formats.
Also attending were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, City National Assembly Delegation, representatives of departments, branches, sectors and localities in the city.
According to statistics, the total number of temporary and dilapidated houses of the 3 groups of subjects in Da Nang city that must be eliminated in the period of 2023 - 2025 according to the spirit of Directive No. 42/CT-TTg, Official Dispatch No. 117/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister is 12,298 houses (including 7,257 newly built houses and 5,041 repaired houses).
Of which, group 1 - People with meritorious services, martyrs' relatives: 2,935 houses; group 2 - Poor households, near-poor households according to national target programs: 5,326 houses; group 3 - Poor households, near-poor households, households with housing difficulties outside groups 1 and 2 and according to the Prime Minister 's launch program, resolutions of the City People's Council: 4,037 houses.
In the period of 2023 - 2025, Da Nang city mobilized and allocated nearly 706 billion VND to carry out the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Of which, the central budget supported more than 323 billion VND; the city budget more than 245 billion VND and socialized mobilization resources reached more than 136 billion VND.

As of August 12, 2025, Da Nang City has supported the construction and repair of 12,298 houses, reaching 100% of the plan and fulfilling the commitment to the Prime Minister. Currently, 11,939 houses have been completed, 359 houses are under construction and committed to be completed before August 31.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has profound political and social significance; demonstrating the spirit, responsibility, determination and great efforts of the entire political system and society.
Many resources were mobilized together with the state budget to support the construction and repair of houses for the beneficiaries, contributing greatly to the goal of ensuring social security and sustainable poverty reduction. This is also a practical and meaningful activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; 50 years of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet acknowledged and thanked the attention and sense of responsibility of the central ministries, branches, levels, sectors and localities, and the joint support of businesses, organizations, individuals and philanthropists who have contributed funds and efforts to help the city successfully implement the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the past time.
To achieve the set plan goals, according to the Chairman of the City People's Committee, the lesson learned is that there must be high political determination, associated with promoting the role of leaders of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the synchronous participation of the entire political system. The assignment of specific tasks, close to reality, with creativity and flexibility in the way of doing things, and direction to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles.
At the same time, focus on propaganda work and effectively mobilize social resources in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
In the coming time, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested that the city's agencies, units and the People's Committees of communes and wards focus on directing, monitoring, urging and supporting the completion of unfinished houses before August 31, 2025.
Review, establish, and complete the records of each supported household according to each specific support funding source; make payments, settle support funding sources, and manage and store records in accordance with regulations.
Continue to propagate and mobilize people to organize the construction, repair and reinforcement of their own houses to ensure durability and safety. At the same time, call for, mobilize, receive and allocate mobilized funds to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses arising after the end of the program.
“We are aware that the city basically has no more temporary or dilapidated houses, but in reality, many people's houses are still not really solid and safe, especially in mountainous areas. Therefore, continuing to support people in repairing, renovating and building new houses is still a regular and important task for all levels of government and the entire political system in the coming time,” said Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.
At the conference, the city leaders awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee to 30 collectives and 26 individuals who have made many contributions to the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the city in the period of 2023 - 2025.
