Da Nang mobilizes more than 705 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang City, the total number of temporary and dilapidated houses of the 3 groups of subjects in the whole city according to Directive No. 42/CT-TTg, Official Dispatch No. 117/CD-TTg for the period 2023-2025 is: 12,298 houses.
Through inspection and survey, the number of temporary, dilapidated houses is especially concentrated in mountainous communes, where many ethnic minorities live in poor districts of the former Quang Nam province. Houses made of bamboo, roofed with old corrugated iron, not able to withstand harsh weather have become a concern for many households. Especially during the rainy and stormy season, these houses are prone to collapse, directly endangering people's lives and property.
From this reality, Quang Nam province (old) and Da Nang mobilized a total of more than 705 billion VND, of which the central budget supported more than 323 billion VND, the city budget more than 245 billion VND and socialized mobilization sources reached more than 136 billion VND, to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.

Regarding the financial support level, in addition to the support level according to regulations (60 million VND/new house and 30 million VND/repaired house), the old city of Da Nang supports policy households of meritorious people and martyrs' relatives: 100 million VND/new house, 40 million VND/repaired house; support for poor and near-poor households: 80 million VND/new house and 30,000,000 VND/repaired house.
From 2023 to August 12, 2025, Da Nang City (including the former Quang Nam Province) has completed 100% of the plan to eliminate 12,298 temporary and dilapidated houses. Including 7,257 newly built houses and 5,041 repaired houses. Thus, after more than 3 years of implementation, Da Nang City has reached the finish line early in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed: "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a program of profound political and social significance, demonstrating the sense of responsibility, determination and great efforts of the entire political system and society, and is a sentiment and gratitude sent to families of policy beneficiaries, relatives of martyrs, poor households, near-poor households and families in difficult circumstances.
In the coming time, the Chairman of the City People's Committee directs departments, branches and localities to continue to monitor, urge and support the completion of unfinished houses before August 31. Each commune and ward determines the funding needs for implementation, reports to the city for consideration and decision to adjust to meet the actual number of houses in the locality. Complete the records of each supported family to ensure compliance with regulations. Continue to propagate and mobilize people to organize the construction and reinforcement of their own houses to ensure safety, durability and strength.
