Hue honors 384 honor students at Ngo Mon

On August 24, at Ngo Mon Square in Hue - a historical and cultural space symbolizing the ancient capital, the People's Committee of Hue City solemnly held a ceremony to honor 384 students who achieved the title of Honorary Student of the whole school in the 2024-2025 school year.

The highlight of this year’s ceremony is the re-enactment of the Truyen Lo Ceremony – the ceremony of announcing the names of doctors under the Nguyen Dynasty – in a theatrical form. In the vividly recreated setting, with ancient rituals and ceremonies, the images of Hue’s excellent students being honored recall the glorious tradition of the land that was once the capital.

The combination of honoring students in the new era with the old ritual has created a solemn and meaningful space, both honoring academic achievements and fostering historical pride. This is also an opportunity to affirm that Hue is not only a cultural and heritage center but also a high-quality education and training center of the whole country.

According to Decision No. 2243/QD-UBND dated July 16, 2025 of the Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, this year, the whole city has 384 students awarded the certificate of Honorary Student of the whole school ; including 212 primary school students, 132 secondary school students and 40 high school students. They are all excellent students, typical representatives of 383 schools in the area. In addition to the prize of 1,000,000 VND, each student was also awarded a traditional Hue Ao Dai - a gift rich in cultural meaning, arousing pride in the homeland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong acknowledged the efforts and outstanding achievements that the city's students have achieved in recent times. Mr. Phuong expressed his hope that generations of students will continue to practice, nurture their ideals, live responsibly and creatively, and conquer new heights in their studies and research.

The city leaders pledged to always accompany the education sector, issue support policies to consolidate the position of a prestigious training center, and at the same time call on families, society and schools to closely coordinate in creating a healthy learning environment, helping students achieve their dreams.

Mr. Nguyen Tan - Director of the Department of Education and Training, said that last school year, Hue continued to reap many outstanding achievements. The whole city had 85/108 students winning prizes at the National Excellent Student Competition (78.7%); 2 students won medals at the Asian Physics Olympiad; 2 students won silver medals at the International Physics and Biology Olympiad; especially, Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted set a record for the 3rd consecutive year having students enter the final round of the Road to Olympia.
