Alcaraz advances to Queen's Club final, Medvedev defeats Zverev

(Dan Tri) - Carlos Alcaraz defeated Roberto Bautista Agut to advance to the final of Queen's Club 2025. In the semi-finals of Halle Open 2025, Daniil Medvedev convincingly defeated Alexander Zverev.

In the semi-finals of the ATP 500 Queen's Club tournament held in England on the evening of June 21, Carlos Alcaraz faced his compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut and easily won the break-point in game 3. The world number two had 15 aces and won set 6-4.

In set 2, Alcaraz won the break-point in game 5 and completely dominated the game. The 37-year-old Spanish player lost his stamina and watched his opponent win set 6-4.

Defeating Roberto Bautista Agut in two sets with the same score of 6-4, Alcaraz will face Jiri Lehecka in the final match of Queen's Club 2025 at 8pm today (June 22). The Czech player defeated the home player Jack Draper in three sets with the scores of 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals of the ATP 500 Halle Open tournament held in Germany on the evening of June 21, Alexander Zverev was rated higher than Daniil Medvedev. The German player has home advantage and is ranked 3rd in the world while Medvedev has dropped to 11th in the ATP rankings.

The two players fought for every point, tied in 12 games, had to enter a tie-break series and Daniil Medvedev's tenacity helped him win 7-3.

In set 2, the two players fought back and continued to draw after 12 games. However, Zverev won 7-1 in the tie-break, thereby bringing the semi-final match into a deciding set 3.

Daniil Medvedev showed his mettle, not only did he win the break-point in game 3 but he also saved 4 breaks and did not give Zverev a chance to turn the situation around. The Russian player ended the set with a 6-4 victory.

In the end, Medvedev defeated Zverev in 3 sets with the scores of 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 after 3 hours to advance to the final of Halle Open 2025 to meet Alexander Bublik at 8pm tonight (June 22). In the previous semi-final, the Kazakh player excellently defeated Karen Khachanov in 3 sets with the scores of 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
