On July 15, the atmosphere at the stadium of the 2025 PBC Indonesia Open 10-ball pool tournament was quiet, when all the players, referees, organizers and fans stood up and bowed their heads in memory of Chang Jung Lin, one of the monuments of the Asian pool billiards village.
In the short but emotional memorial service, everyone turned their attention to the deceased. Many of the world's top players could not hide their tears.

On its homepage, the World Pool Association (WPA) sent its deepest gratitude: "Before the 4th day of competition began, players and officials together observed a solemn minute of silence to commemorate Chang Jung Lin, a respected champion, a dedicated athlete and a symbol of the pool billiards community.

According to information from the Taiwan Billiards Federation, on July 14, Chang Jung Lin felt unwell after his first match at the 2025 PBC Indonesia International Open 10-ball Billiards Tournament. The Taiwanese player returned to the hotel to rest and did not play the second match, before being found dead in his room.
The sudden passing of the 2012 World 8-ball Pool Champion has shocked the international billiards community. Not only a talented player, Chang is also known as an inspirational role model for the next generation. His years of competition have always left a strong impression of passion, dedication and fiery playing style.
