The launching ceremony of the “StudentLive - Closing Arena” contest took place today, July 1. The event was jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association, MVL Trading, Service and Communication Joint Stock Company, with the support of TikTok Shop and many universities, colleges and secondary schools nationwide.

Livestream is an unstoppable trend, from popular to luxury goods can be brought online.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City - acknowledged: "E-commerce is an unstoppable trend". Many agencies and departments are very interested in this field and are making efforts to train and foster it.

In many countries, typically China, this industry is developing very strongly, small traders not only sell cheap goods but also sell supercars and high-end items.

Even bunches of vegetables and stalks of onions can be easily ordered on e-commerce platforms and delivered quickly. “You can leave the office, order food, and have it delivered to your home,” said Ngoc Hoi, an example of the development in the country of a billion people.

In Vietnam, e-commerce is present and developing rapidly. On that basis, the unit implements a plan to integrate e-commerce content into training programs, targeting specific target groups.

First of all, there is the group of traditional traders who need support to improve their skills and innovate their business methods.

Next is the modern retail system, which was limited by physical space, can now expand its operations in the digital environment.

Workers and farmers are also encouraged to use e-commerce as a livelihood support tool, allowing direct sales without intermediaries.

Young people and students are the ones who can learn more skills, combine with schools to train e-commerce from the beginning, creating conditions for them to start a business in a new field.

Students are a big driver of the livestream economy.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dao - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association (HAA) - said that e-commerce, especially sales via livestream, is developing explosively.

“StudentLive - Closing Arena” is not just a competition to find winners, but also a journey to train and spread career awareness among young people.

Through the series of seminars accompanying the competition, students have the opportunity to correctly understand and master legal regulations in the field of advertising, practice professional sales skills associated with professional ethics, as well as effectively apply modern livestream techniques according to the correct standards.

“Let's learn together how to identify, criticize and prevent false advertising, step by step building a generation of professionals with heart, vision and responsibility in the era of rapidly developing digital commerce,” said Mr. Dao.

Mr. Truong Van Hung - Principal of Van Lang Saigon College - commented that although it is a competition, StudentLive is also a learning space. With the view that sitting in school is starting a business, the school ecosystem must create conditions for students to start a business, as well as understand cultural and social values.

Representing the e-commerce platform, Ms. Tran Thi Tan - Director of Social Responsibility at TikTok Shop Vietnam - said that today, e-commerce is not only a sales channel but also a space that combines shopping, entertainment and content creation, creating many positive impacts.

Not only small traders, or influencers on social networks (KOC, KOL), content creators, but also young people - students are also contributing to promoting the digital economy through e-commerce.

The StudentLive contest is one of the key activities within the framework of "Vietnam Ad & Fun Week 2025" hosted by the Vietnam Advertising Association (VAA).

Within the framework of the week, there is also the Vietnam advertising equipment and technology exhibition - VietAd, the Vietnam international exhibition of smart screens and integrated systems, and the job fair - Career Day 2025.
