Bac Giang organizes the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

On the morning of June 17, at the Bac Giang Provincial Convention Center, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Journalists Association, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang province jointly organized the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

At the ceremony, comrade Trinh Van Anh, Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Bac Giang Newspaper, presented a speech reviewing the glorious tradition of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

In line with the flow of the country's press, in January 1941, the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee launched Phuc Quoc newspaper.

In early 1947, the Provincial Information and Propaganda Department was established, publishing a weekly newsletter to propagate production and combat tasks.

In early 1949, the Provincial Party Propaganda Department published the newspaper "Internal News".

In mid-1950, the newspaper "Tin Noi Bo" merged with the newspaper "Tin Bac Giang".

On November 30, 1961, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee issued a Resolution to convert the "Tin Bac Giang" newspaper into Song Thuong Newspaper, the predecessor of today's Bac Giang Newspaper.

After the country was unified, Bac Giang press entered a new stage of development. On September 21, 1977, the People's Committee of Ha Bac province issued a decision to establish Ha Bac Radio Station on the basis of the radio and broadcasting system under the Information Department and operated from October 1, 1977. In addition to print newspapers, radio and television, during this period, Van Nghe Newspaper was also born along with the development of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association.

To gather a team of journalists and propagandists, in 1972, the Ha Bac Provincial Journalists Association held its first congress. From its initial establishment with more than 10 members, the Association now has 200 members.

The Association regularly performs well the role of gathering, uniting, and motivating members to work enthusiastically and creatively, practice their profession in accordance with the law and professional ethics, and contribute to the good performance of the tasks of press agencies.

In each period, although with different names associated with the merger and separation of provinces, the press agencies and the Provincial Journalists Association continuously matured and grew.

Especially in recent years, the province's press agencies have promoted the application of information technology, digital transformation, and comprehensive innovation in all aspects.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged, praised and congratulated the achievements that generations of leaders and journalists of Bac Giang have achieved throughout the formation and development of Vietnam's revolutionary press.

He emphasized that in the difficult, difficult and complicated times, Bac Giang press reporters in particular and press colleagues from all over the country in general were present in the most difficult times, leaving good feelings in the hearts of the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Giang; building the image of Bac Giang journalists with extensive and rich knowledge, communication skills, and journalistic capacity; with passion, enthusiasm, sensitivity, courage, dedication, exploration and discovery in journalism activities. More importantly, the efforts of press agencies and journalists have contributed to creating a strongly developing Bac Giang.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism" Medal to comrades: Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vu Manh Thang, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission.

In addition, the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism" Medal to 7 individuals who are members of the Provincial Journalists Association.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in journalism, information and propaganda activities, Association work and activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
