Previously, on the morning of November 13, Mr. HS (born in 1984, residing in Chau Duc district) was caught in a net knitting machine and his right arm was severed. After the accident, the patient's wound bled profusely, and his family used a bandage to press on the wound to stop the bleeding. The severed arm was kept in an ice box by his family and taken to Ba Ria General Hospital.
At the hospital emergency room, the patient was found to be in shock, in severe pain, irritated, with pale skin and mucous membranes, sweating, and the wound on the bandaged shoulder was still bleeding. The on-duty team activated the internal red alert to mobilize resources to reattach the arm and save the patient's life. After nearly 7 hours of surgery, the severed arm was reattached. The patient is currently conscious, in stable health, the reattached arm is alive, the hand is warm and pink, the radial pulse is clear, there is no more swelling, and the wound is stable.
According to doctors, this is a special surgery successfully performed at the provincial level to save the life of a severed limb. Thereby, not only regaining motor function but also bringing aesthetic value to the patient later.
