Director of the Cooperative Nguyen Van Duong said: "Before converting according to the 2012 Law on Cooperatives, the Cooperative operated inefficiently. After converting according to the Law on Cooperatives, since 2015, the Cooperative has made efforts to innovate in all aspects, its activities have had many positive changes and are increasingly developing. In particular, since 2018, when the People's Committee of Thieu Hoa district (old) applied the province's agricultural restructuring policy to support and encourage economic sectors to develop large-scale agriculture in depth; at the same time, with the consensus of members, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative has truly "transformed", not only sustainably developing traditional services but also expanding its scale, strongly developing competitive services, becoming a "locomotive" to promote the application of CNC in agricultural production in the area".
In addition to developing 4 public services, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative also strongly develops competitive services such as electricity, internal credit, seed supply and development of agricultural production applying CNC. Since 2015, the Cooperative has mobilized and organized members to consolidate land plots, renovate fields, creating favorable conditions for the application of scientific and technological advances and synchronous mechanization in production. Thanks to support from the locality, in 2019, the Cooperative has developed 0.5 ha of greenhouses, becoming one of the leading units in the province in the movement to develop greenhouses and net houses for agricultural production in the direction of CNC application. The Cooperative has signed a contract with Lam Son Sugarcane Joint Stock Company to transfer science and technology and consume golden queen melon products, and at the same time mobilized members to expand the scale of greenhouse and net house production.
Ms. Le Thi Tham in residential area 4, Thieu Hoa commune said: “When the cooperative develops agricultural production using CNC, cooperative members not only have stable jobs and additional income, but also receive training and improve their production knowledge to develop their family economy. After working for the cooperative's production area, the family now has 500m2 of greenhouses and net houses to produce safe vegetables.”
To date, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative has invested more than 6.3 billion VND to build 8 greenhouses with a total area of 12,761m2 to produce safe vegetables and fruits. Thanks to experience and techniques, the cooperative produces 3 crops of yellow melon and 1 crop of baby melon every year, with a total output of about 170 - 180 tons/year, earning a profit of 800 million to 1 billion VND. At the same time, it also provides consulting and technical support to dozens of members participating in expanding the agricultural production area in the direction of CNC, contributing to improving the level of agricultural production and creating regular jobs for many local workers.
Since 2024, after visiting and learning from the models, the Cooperative has encouraged some member households to introduce Korean milk grapes for experimental planting. Currently, some areas are bearing fruit for the first time and promise to yield quite well. The products are connected by the Cooperative to be consumed at supermarkets and clean food stores in and outside the province.
In addition to proactive production and business, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative also supervises and supports people in producing 3 safe vegetable production areas according to VietGAP standards with a total area of 25.5 hectares. At the same time, it advises the locality to open booths to introduce safe agricultural products; bring local agricultural products to participate in fairs, promote products on the software system connecting supply and demand of safe agricultural products and food in Thanh Hoa province.
It is known that up to now, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative has had 2 4-star OCOP products, "Van Ha golden melon" and "Van Ha baby cucumber", which are being consumed strongly according to production chains inside and outside the province. The annual revenue of the Cooperative reaches more than 25.5 billion VND, the Cooperative has achieved a growth rate of 15%/year or more.
Thanks to its dynamism in building effective production and business plans, contributing to increasing revenue, profit and income for members and employees, Thieu Hung Agricultural Service Cooperative has been awarded many noble titles. In particular, the Cooperative was honored to receive the title of Cooperative Star in 2024 voted by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in collective economic activities in the period of 2020-2025.
