On July 13, the Hai Phong Department of Health coordinated with the People's Committee of Le Thanh Nghi Ward to inspect compliance with legal regulations in the medical field at MELIZA Beauty Salon located at 484 Nguyen Van Linh, Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Phong City.
Through inspection and verification, this facility was not granted a license to operate medical examination and treatment by the Department of Health.
Hai Phong Department of Health has requested the facility to stop medical activities and will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to handle the matter according to their authority after receiving conclusions from the authorities.
According to initial information, Ms. NTT (born in 1985, residing on Do Quang street, Le Thanh Nghi ward, Hai Phong city) had breast augmentation at another facility (time of intervention unknown).
At around 10am on July 2nd, Ms. NTT arrived at the above Aesthetic Therapy facility and pharmacist Thanh Tuyen sent staff to massage her face and chest. Ms. NTT felt tired, so Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen used acupuncture needles and rubbed hot oil on her chest, then Ms. NTT took a lunch break at the facility.
Early in the afternoon of the same day, Ms. NTT felt more uncomfortable and tired. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen took Ms. T to Hai Duong General Hospital for emergency treatment, then she was transferred to Bach Mai Hospital.
Currently, Ms. NTT is being actively treated by doctors at Bach Mai Hospital using the method of supporting circulation and artificial respiration to replace the heart and lungs (ECMO), but the prognosis is very poor./.
