Three Vietnamese Cai Luong, Cheo, and Tuong theaters merged into one

Vietnam Cai Luong Theatre, Vietnam Cheo Theatre, and Vietnam Tuong Theatre will merge into the Vietnam National Traditional Stage Theatre before August 1.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh signed a decision to promulgate a list of public service units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Accordingly, public service units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be reorganized in the direction of merging and consolidating a number of units.

Specifically, Co Loa Studio and the Cinema Technical Center will be merged into the Vietnam Center for Sports and Tourism Cinema, and renamed the Vietnam Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism Cinema.

Merge the Vietnam Cai Luong Theatre, Vietnam Cheo Theatre, and Vietnam Tuong Theatre into the Vietnam National Traditional Stage Theatre.

Merge the Viet Bac Folk Music, Dance and Singing Theatre into the Vietnam Music, Dance and Singing Theatre and change the name to the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Singing Theatre.

The process of merging and consolidating these units will be completed before August 1.

According to this merger and consolidation decision, 12 theaters under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will have only 9 theaters left, including: Vietnam National Music, Dance and Theatre; Vietnam National Traditional Stage Theatre;

Vietnam Puppetry Theatre; Vietnam Symphony Orchestra; Vietnam Drama Theatre; Vietnam Music, Dance and Drama Theatre; Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theatre; Vietnam Youth Theatre; Vietnam Circus Federation.

The total number of public service units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is exactly 50 units.
