The decision came after Anker discovered a potential fire hazard associated with lithium-ion battery cells from a specific supplier.

According to Anker, the company has conducted multiple quality checks to detect manufacturing issues early, including component-level audits and supplier testing. Although the likelihood of an issue is considered minimal, the company decided to carry out the recall to ensure consumer safety.
The list of recalled Anker power banks includes model numbers A1257 (10,000 mAh, 22.5W); A1647 (20,000 mAh, 22.5W, integrated USB-C cable); A1652 (10,000 mAh, 7.5W); A1681 (20,000 mAh, 30W, integrated USB-C and Lightning cables); A1689 (20,000 mAh, 30W, integrated USB-C cable).
How to Check the Model Number of a Recalled Anker Power Bank
Users can check the model number on the back or side of their power bank to determine if their product is included in the recall. If so, they can fill out a recall form to start the process and verify their device's serial number.

If the power bank is eligible for recall, users will receive a replacement product or a gift card to use on Anker's website. The company recommends that users immediately stop using the affected power banks, even if they are still functioning properly, as they may pose a risk of overheating, melting, smoking, or fire.
This is Anker's second major recall in June, after the company recalled more than 1 million Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks (model number A1263) due to a fire safety risk associated with the lithium-ion battery. These chargers were sold in the US between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2022.
