Coach Amorim opposes MU making behind-the-scenes film. |
In the Premier League, Arsenal and Tottenham have pioneered the popular 'All or Nothing' documentaries released by Amazon Prime in recent years, with Manchester United close to following suit after agreeing a £10m deal with the streaming giant.
According to The Athletic , negotiations between Amazon and MU about the documentary lasted for several months. However, coach Ruben Amorim was not satisfied with the move of the team's leadership. In the end, Amorim's objections were listened to by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his associates, leading to the decision not to make the documentary, which has the potential to bring in big profits.
United fans reacted quickly to the news of the cancellation of the behind-the-scenes documentary. One person wrote on X: "Good decision, all that stuff is so annoying". Another said: "Finally got it right". Another added: " Thank goodness, don't want the world to see what goes on inside as we face a relegation battle next season".
Amorim's opposition to the documentary is not a surprise as United head into a crucial season. The pressure will be on from the start, with the Red Devils finishing 15th in the Premier League last season. They also do not have an easy schedule, with United facing Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in the early rounds.
