Al Hilal are facing a crucial rebuilding phase, with negotiations to terminate Malcom's contract.

Despite achieving great success at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup by reaching the quarter-finals, Al Hilal's leadership still surprises everyone by wanting to clean up the squad and say goodbye to a series of key players this summer. According to UOL , Al Hilal is negotiating to terminate Malcom's contract.

Besides Malcom, left-back Renan Lodi and striker Marcos Leonardo are also on the list of players likely to leave the team, as coach Simone Inzaghi plans to rebuild the squad in preparation for the next season.

Malcom, Lodi and Leonardo have all been Al Hilal's mainstays for many years. Malcom and Leonardo were even two stars who shone brightly at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, scoring the decisive goals in the match against Manchester City in the round of 16.

However, Al Hilal's board and coach Simone Inzaghi have identified a need for a squad overhaul to further their ambitions in the 2025/26 season. Malcom's relationship with Al Hilal has also become strained, especially after the player's altercation with fans during the quarter-final defeat to Fluminense.

Malcom's contract with Al Hilal expires in June 2027, with an estimated salary of 18 million euros per season, equivalent to more than 300,000 euros/week. Al Hilal is willing to pay part of the compensation for Malcom to terminate the contract and leave as a free agent.

Meanwhile, two other Brazilian foreign players, Lodi and Leonardo, are considered not to have enough professional capacity. On the other hand, Al Hilal is actively adding new players. After reaching an agreement with Theo Hernandez, the Saudi Arabian rich man is also in contact with Dusan Vlahovic of Juve.

Man City fell to Al Hilal After Inter lost to Fluminense, it was Man City's turn to lose 3-4 to Al Hilal in the round of 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ on the morning of July 1.
