Yen Bai discovered many counterfeit goods
At the time of the meeting, Ms. Nhung was only able to provide the Certificate of Branch Registration for the Queen Oriental Medicine Company Branch; some cosmetic product declaration forms and sales invoices. In addition, Ms. Nhung did not provide invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods at the Queen Oriental Medicine Company Branch's warehouse.
Initially determined, during the period from January 2024 to May 2025, defendant Vu Quang Thuan (born in 1990), Director of the Hoang Oriental Medicine Production, Import-Export Trading Company Limited (headquartered at No. 57D, Alley 42/30, Lane 175 Lac Long Quan, Nghia Do Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi City) used his private house and the Branch's factory at No. 20, Lane 463, Tran Binh Trong Street, Nam Tho Group, Nam Cuong Ward, Yen Bai City, Yen Bai Province, as a place to produce 18 types of cosmetics that are not yet permitted to circulate in Vietnam, with a total quantity of 22,646 products corresponding to a value of more than 8 billion 211 million VND to sell to the market through a network of agents nationwide.
On June 4, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Bai Provincial Police (Economic Police Department) issued a decision to prosecute the case, a decision to prosecute the accused, a search warrant for the residence and workplace, and an arrest warrant to temporarily detain the accused Vu Quang Thuan to investigate the crime of "Producing prohibited goods" as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 190 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended and supplemented in 2017).
Immediately after the Yen Bai Provincial People's Procuracy approved, on June 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Bai Provincial Police organized the execution of the above-mentioned decisions and prosecution orders.
During the search, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Bai Provincial Police seized a large quantity of cosmetic products, raw materials for cosmetic production and many machines and equipment for cosmetic production with a total estimated value of tens of billions of VND.
The case is currently under further investigation and clarification.
